I can’t help but compare acne to what we are experiencing today with social distancing. 🦠 I took this photo a year ago right before starting accutane ~March 2019~ I was so ashamed and embarrassed that my skin was completely out of my control. You can see me literally hiding my face with my hoodie and sunglasses. 🕶 Much like corona virus, we can’t control it. We can’t control our acne. Who I was a year ago would have loved to be told to stay inside because when I was suffering severely from acne I did remove myself from society. I distanced my self from my friends and family not just physically but emotionally due to how isolated I felt. 💔 Once I discovered the extremely powerful #acnecommunity online I didn’t feel alone. That’s why I decided to share my #skinjourney with you and try and shed light on a situation that can seem so dark and never-ending.💡

The idea that people with acne don’t do everything in their power to get rid of it is so absurd because we’re the ones who put more care into our skin. 🤯 Right before my skin broke out like I never have experienced before ~fall 2018~ I went to my dermatologist monthly and would spend $$$$ getting lasered and do any treatments to ensure my controlled skin.👩🏻‍🔬 It breaks my heart when people ask “don’t you wash your face” to those suffering cause it is so much more than simply washing your face. 🧼 Here I have on face numbing cream right before getting fraxel laser for my scars in spring 2017. It sucks to have to go through this process of getting lasered and doing the treatments all over again, but if you know, you know it’s all worth it. But I do have to say, this time suffering from acne, the worst I ever have in the past, taught me so much more than I ever would have in my life. Looking back it was a positive experience for me cause I am such a better, stronger person because of it. ✨🙏🏼

I am so tired of waking up every morning and covering my acne scars. 🐆 When I had my severe acne I would wake up early and spend almost an hour doing my makeup just to cover my acne spots, marks, and scars; yet, overtime I noticed my skin health only got worst. 🧏🏻‍♀️ This is just a reminder to let your skin breathe, we all have flaws. 🦋 Today the only product I have on my face is @glossier cloud paint in dusk as a cheek color / contour. she believed and she was right 🦋 my skin March 18 2019 vs March 22 2020 ➡️ can’t believe I manifested this 🥺 one of the hardest parts of my accutane journey was waiting for a month before I could start my dose on April 1st 2019 💊 exactly one year ago at this time (March 2019) was extremely difficult for me. I was waiting to go on accutane due to blood tests and pregnancy tests needed before beginning accutane 💉 it was my junior year of college spring break. I decided to not go on a trip with my best friends to Cabo cause of my skin insecurity 🍹 i can’t help but think of how I socially isolated myself last year and today I am in that same position due to the current pandemic 😷 I truly believe in manifesting and so proud of my journey. I truly believe I was supposed to get acne so I could grow and lead with kindness and positivity 🌟 sending you all love & a beautiful day 💛 thank you all for always supporting me and my journey 💫 if you’re going through a difficult acne journey I hope this inspires you ✨ if I can get through this, so can you, I promise 🦋
